Cannabidiol or CBD—is a compound ( Cannabinoid ) found in the cannabis plant that has significant medical benefits, but does not make you feel “stoned” and actually counteracts the psychoactivity of THC. CBD is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It is a major phytocannabinoid, accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract.
How CBD Works – Simple Terms
CBD oil benefits our bodies by stimulating and regulating the endo-cannabinoid system found in our bodies, this group of neuromodulators is responsible for a variety of physiological processes.
How Does It Work – Science Stuff
Ok, this is technical, apologies.
CBD indirectly stimulates endogenous cannabinoid signaling by suppressing the enzyme fatty acid amide hydroxylase (FAAH) – the enzyme that breaks down anandamide.
Cannabinoid molecules found in cannabis plants are considered “exogenous ligands” to the cannabinoid (CB) receptor family, anandamide is an “endogenous” cannabinoid ligand – meaning it binds to one or more cannabinoid receptors and is found naturally inside the body. Anandamide favors the CB1 receptor, which for us is concentrated in the brain and central nervous system. Because FAAH is responsible for breaking down anandamide, less FAAH remains present in the body for a longer duration. More anandamide means greater CB1 activation.
By inhibiting the enzyme that metabolizes and destroys anandamide, CBD boosts the body’s protective endocannabinoid response. CBD also stimulates the release of 2-AG, another endocannabinoid that activates both CB1 and CB2 receptors – CB2 receptors are predominant in the peripheral nervous systems and the immune system.
Cannabidiol has been shown to directly interact with other, so called “G-protein-coupled” receptors to confer its medicinal effect. CBD, for example, binds to the TRPV-1 receptor, which is known to mediate pain perception, inflammation and body temperature.
TRPV is the technical abbreviation for “transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V.” Scientists also refer to it as the “vanilloid receptor,” named after the flavorful vanilla bean.
CBD is a TRPV-1 “agonist” or stimulant. This is likely one of the reasons why CBD rich oil may be a particularly effective treatment for neuropathic pain.
CBD has it’s anti-anxiety effect by activating the adenosine receptors. Adenosine receptors play significant roles in cardiovascular function, regulating myocardial oxygen consumption and coronary blood flow. The adenosine (A2A) receptor has broad anti-inflammatory effects throughout the body.
Adenosine receptors also play a significant role in the brain. They down-regulate the release of other neurotransmitters such as dopamine and glutamate.
At high concentrations, CBD directly activates the 5-HT1A (hydroxytryptamine) serotonin receptor, thereby conferring an anti-depressant effect. This receptor is implicated in a range of biological and neurological processes, including but not necessarily limited to, anxiety, addiction, appetite, sleep, pain perception, nausea and vomiting.

CBD Oil Reviews by Our Customers:
I have MMN (similar in nature to ALS but has only affected motor nerves so far). Have been using this product for about 6 months now. It has eliminated muscle twitching and pain associated with it. It seems to have slowed or stalled any progression and has made life more “livable”. I am on no other prescription meds. Thank you for a wonderful product. Blue Label CBD Oil has literally changed my life. At 43 years old I was saddened to learn that my back problems could not be corrected and that I would always have back pain. Well, I decided I was going to manage and control my back pain and was not going to let it control my life!
I have suffered from back pain all of my adult life, and chronic back pain for the last several years due to spinal stenosis, degenerative disks and arthritis in my lower back, in 2014 I ruptured my disk and had to have back surgery. I learned that I have an extra vertebra a “L6” that is not totally formed and causes my S1 disk to slide forward on the L6. I begin taking Blue Label to ease the pain, as I was looking for a healthier option for pain relief. But even taking pain medicines did not ease the pain it masked it. Blue Label has done so much for me, I know longer have constant pain, it has taken the edge off the pain. I have some stiffness in my lower back – feels like sore/tight muscles but the pain is tolerable and doesn’t not affect my quality of life. I also noticed that my muscle aches and joint pain from fibromyalgia is gone! I had swelling and pain in the joint of one of my fingers, nothing improved it. One day, I realized it’s gone!! I have battled restless leg syndrome. I have not had an episode of restless leg since I began taking the CBD Oil. And as the BEST unexpected benefit is my relief from Chronic IBS with constipation. All I can say is WOW! Honestly, I have battled constipation all my life. Been to many doctors, had colonoscopies, bowel studies, and every medicine and therapy. I could go up to 2 weeks without a bowel movement, never had more than one bowl movement in a day if not a week, but usually was 3 to 4 days. I had pain and was always constipated. Now since I started taking CBD oil, I have a BM at least 2 sometimes 3 times a day…that alone makes me feel good!!!!!
I can’t say enough about Blue Label CBD oil, it has gave me my life back. I take it, about the size of a long rice, under my tongue before bed. I sleep so much better. Before Blue Label CBD Oil, I was up multiple times at night, I started dreading bedtime. As I was constantly tossing and turning to try to relieve my back pain. I would recommend taking it at night. I can’t say enough good things about the CBD Oil benefits, to not depend on conventional prescriptions and medicines does the body good.
