Cannabidiol and Lyme Disease

CBD Hemp Oil May Help in Treating Lyme Disease – Borreliosis

The use Cannabidiol or more commonly know as CBD Hemp oil, made from the Cannabis Sativa plant, could be the key to eradicating spirochete in the cystic form. Dr. Ernie Murakami is one of Canada’s leading Lyme literate practitioners and has cured many of his patients that were suffering with Lyme disease. He has been using legal cannabis oil, high in Cannabidiol (CBD) to treat the illness.

His interest in CBD oil came about when he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. While researching his own treatment plan Dr. Murakami came across research showing the use of Cannabidiol in dissolving Glioma tumors. To his amazement, the CBD oil treatments had cured his tumor in just 4 months.

On his website, Murakami states how anecdotal cases of CBD hemp oil treating chronic infections resistant to the standard antibiotics had convinced him that there was an antibiotic effect with cannabidiol. His organization is now spear heading the research on the effect of CBD on Spirochete with the aid of United States University.

Murakami states that “research initiated by his association has in the first stage of testing Cannabidiol on live spirochetes has now provided us the positive evidence based study needed to continue with further testing.”

Progress on the study of the effects of cannabis oil on Lyme Disease continues. Recently Dr. Murakami posted the following message on his Facebook page,

There is good reason to feel that many other compounds (Cannabinoids) found in CBD extracts will have similar effects. I can state that there was a definite increased spirochete, eggs and biofilm killing effect with the increased concentrations of the cannabidiol in the test.”

About Lyme Disease – Borreliosis

Lyme disease is an infectious illness systemic to nature. The usual way of contracting Lyme disease is through a bite from a tick, often a Deer Tick. However, research has shown that other disease carrying insects such as mosquitoes may also be able to transfer the illness. It can cause over a hundred different symptoms and is very difficult to treat as the neurotoxin secreted from the bite alters chemical activity in the host at the cellular level, sometimes even altering our genetic makeup and DNA. An initial reaction to the bite may not even produce any visible symptoms or irritation, often infections may go unnoticed by the bitten for months or even years.

Contracting Lyme disease is relatively simple, but detecting the illness can be extremely challenging. Most doctors rely on outdated testing protocol, which has been proven to be inaccurate. The system currently in place often produces false negatives and does not detect co-infections within the body and other micro-organisms passed on by the Tick. The government released an advisory on problems diagnosing the illness in 2012 warning doctors. Still little has changed to improve the diagnosis process.

Doctors who provide a clinical diagnosis rather than relying solely on diagnostics are still treating and counseling patients based on outdated research and procedure. An example of this, is the appearance of a Bull’s Eye rash forming on the skin surrounding an infected bite. In the past, it was believed that this pattern of skin irritation was present in most cases of Lyme disease infection. This is actually false. Recent studies show as many as 76% of Lyme infected patients do not physically react this way.
